SEIU Supports Healthy Wisconsin
SEIU has endorsed the State Senate's Healthy Wisconsin to improve the health of working families.

Healthy WisconsinIt's just wrong for anyone who works hard, pay taxes, and play by the rules to go without decent affordable health care coverage. That's why SEIU members have joined together in support of Healthy Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin, we have some of the best doctors and medical facilities in the world. Healthy Wisconsin preserves our state-of-the-art health care system, while making it accessible to everyone by lowering costs, and guaranteeing access and choice.

Immigration Reform
SEIU worked with Voces de la Frontera to make thousands of calls in support of comprehensive immigration reform.
immigration calls
Volunteers with Voces de la Frontera used the SEIU call center to talk with voters and members about immigration reform.

Immigrants  work hard, pay taxes, sacrifice for their families and believe in the American Dream. America is at its best when it overcomes "us vs. them" fear to forge unity out of diversity.

Our immigration system is badly broken. It's up to congress and the White House to fix it, and to fix it now. The U.S. Senate is currently debating a historic immigration bill which could bring a path to citizenship for nearly 12 million immigrant workers.

That is why SEIU teamed up with Voces de la Frontera to make thousands of calls in Wisconsin in support of immigration reform. Volunteers patched Wisconsin residents through to their Senators to demand comprehensive immigration reform.

More calls are needed!

More than 9 million American kids have no health insurance.

They have no access to regular check-ups. When they get sick, their parents worry about whether they can afford to see a doctor.

That's why Congress is considering a major increase in funding for the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), which could provide coverage to millions of uninsured children.

You can Help! Bring your family to a special Mother's Day press conference with Congressman Steve Kagen to support this major expansion of health coverage for America's kids.

"Working Families in Wisconsin are Suffering."
SEIU Calls for Quality and Affordable Health Care in Wisconsin
 Health Care Hearings
The SEIU Wisconsin State Council has joined with the Wisconsin Health Care Reform Campaign at State Senate hearings across the state to demand quality affordable health care.

SEIU is working both in Wisconsin, and nationally to fix our broken health care system.

“Working families in Wisconsin are suffering,” stated Dian Palmer. “It is unacceptable that insurance companies and large hospital systems make billions, while parents are being forced to choose between necessary medications and food for their children.”

The proposal, The Health Care Action Plan, introduced by registered nurse and State Senator Judy Robson (D-Beloit), will require the Legislature to pass a comprehensive health care plan by January 1, 2008.  This plan must provide health coverage to at least 98% of Wisconin's residents and cut overall health care costs by 15%.
